In the fourth quarter of 2024, the performance of top communication apps on the Android platform in Nigeria showcased varied trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Telegram saw a consistent increase in weekly revenue, culminating at approximately $44.5K in late November. Downloads experienced a significant rise in early November, peaking at around 285K, while weekly active users started at 17.5M, gradually declining to 16.4M by the quarter’s end.

SMS Virtual - Receive SMS maintained a steady revenue flow, reaching a high of $12.8K in late November. Downloads fluctuated, with a peak of 12.4K in early December. Active users rose to over 60K during the same period, showing a steady growth trend.

Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out experienced a notable increase in revenue, hitting $13.2K in late December. Weekly downloads varied, reaching a high of 33.1K at the end of September, while active users hovered around 600K, with a slight dip mid-quarter.

Vyke: Second Phone/2nd Line showed stable revenue trends, peaking at $9.9K in late November. Downloads remained relatively low, with a slight increase to 3.5K at the end of December. The app's active users saw an increase, ending the quarter at nearly 40K.

SMS-Activate receive sms experienced a steady revenue trend, reaching $8K in late November. Downloads peaked at about 6.5K in mid-October, while active users increased to around 49K by mid-December.
